Most of our job seems to be about back pain, headaches, ankle strains, tennis elbow and the rest. But we see a lot more than that. The body is not disentangled from the brain and so we treat both the pain and the brain!
We use a variety of techniques to treat the aches and pains you come with. Some techniques include gentle release techniques, soft tissue work, use of mobilization and joint manipulation.
Cranial Sacral technique is often associated with the treatment of babies and children but is very effective in adults too. It is seen as being a much more gentle and subtle way of treating. It not only works with the body to relieve tension in the spine, pelvis and skull but treats organs and deep tissues as well as long standing joint problems. Together with Dr. Anne Jaekel we have been published in our US colleagues peer reviewed journal the JAOA - Jäkel A, von Hauenschild P. Therapeutic effects of cranial osteopathic manipulative medicine: a systematic review. J Am Osteopath Assoc. 2011;111(12):685-693.
Talk to us about your pain

Children and babies respond especially well to osteopathic treatment. The birth process as well as subsequent knocks and falls can affect the way in which babies and children react to certain illnesses.
We treat all ages of babies and children and always discuss our diagnosis and treatment plans with the parent or carer for an all round understanding of what we do and how to manage the condition.
What to Expect
We take a detailed case history of the complaint and your past medical history. This is followed by a physical examination including the area of pain which may require removal of garments if necessary, including nappies ! Our diagnosis will be explained to you including what the following treatment would entail, if treatment is appropriate. Occasionally we may wish to write to other health care practitioners but this is entirely with your consent.
Once the diagnosis has been established we will treat the symptoms using a broad range of osteopathic techniques. We will inform you of everything we do and all treatment will be with your consent.
